We're making a great exhibition

With an amazing site-specific layout, we’re transforming our workshop space, and the pages of Rose Blake and Doro Globus’s book Making a Great Exhibition!, published in Italy by Corraini, are going to serve as a brilliant frame for exploring the different professions at work in exhibition spaces.

To make an exhibition truly great, you need a whole host of people with different capabilities and professional skills. Curators, layout designers, photographers and museum directors explain to us how an exhibition is produced, from the moment a work of art takes shape in the artist’s mind until the moment it hangs on a gallery’s blank white walls. How does a sculptor or a painter produce their work? How are paintings and installations moved? What happens before the public finally enters the museum’s rooms? We’re making a great exhibition! is a playful and highly colourful introduction to the world of contemporary art and the way it works.
