Mario Schifano, Marco Tirelli, ROMASUONA

The new exhibition season kicks off in March, with a retrospective of Mario Schifano, bringing together over one hundred of the artist's most acclaimed and iconic works, followed by a large installation by Marco Tirelli, "Anni luce," and ROMASUONA, an exhibition on music in Italy in the 1970s.

Conceived in response to the requirements of a modern exhibition space, since the year of its inauguration in 1883 the Palazzo Esposizioni Roma has been promoting exhibitions, meetings, reviews. It generates and spreads contemporary culture in all its forms, building its activities on research and experimentation that concern both visual arts and sciences

The Art Workshop run by the Palazzo Esposizioni Roma was set up in 2000 to tie in with the exhibition on Time! A Journey Through the Concept and the Depiction of Time, and has endeavoured ever since then to bring different kinds of audiences, particularly young people, closer to the art world by devising new and innovative ways of observing and interpreting reality through the different languages of contemporary art

The Palazzo Esposizioni Roma bookshop, newly designed in the early 2000s, is at level 0 and is also accessible from via Milano 15/17. The shop specialises in books and periodicals on the visual arts, photography, architecture, design. It is constantly being updated with the latest publications on art criticism and theory, offering both focus and in-depth editorial analysis on running exhibitions

A contemporary bistro inside the historic building on via Nazionale

In the greenhouse of the building, the lower floor hosts the City Lunch and Brunch and the upper floor hosts the à la carte restaurant

With 136 seats and an independent entrance, the cinema is chiefly intended for films and documentaries related to the exhibitions in progress

The Auditorium can accommodate 88 people. Although it is designed specifically for theatrical activities, it is a multipurpose hall
