Opus Television production in assocation with History Channel UK.  Documentary, Italy, France, Great Britain, 2008, 175 min., original Italian version.

Allowing us to gain a clearer picture of the present thanks to a stringent interpretation of the past, this monumental documentary reconstructs the salient aspects in the development of ancient Islamic civilisation from the first nomadic tribes to the dawn of an empire and from the construction of the most important Muslim cities – multi-ethnic and multi-religious centres of cultural osmosis – to the great scientific discoveries in the fields of mathematics and astronomy, up to and including the Arab philosophical tradition's penetration in the West fuelled by the ceaseless translation of Arab scholars' work into Latin.
