Travis left his family a long ago and went roaming through the USA. Now he's back home only to find out that Jane, his wife, is missing. Hunter, Travis and Jane's 8-year-old son, are being raised by Travis' sister and her husband. Travis sets out to find Jane, and takes Hunter with him. Wenders combines the classic American road-movie with the European relationship drama. The result is a striking and sensitive work that won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
