in conjunction with the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mexican Embassy
To mark its major exhibition devoted to "Teotihuacan, City of the Gods", the Palazzo delle Esposizioni will be hosting some of the most distinguished international scholars - traveling expressly from Mexico to illustrate their research in the field - and some the leading Italian authorities on native American culture every week to discuss one of the most extraordinary and mysterious civilizations in the history of mankind. The accounts of these eminent archaeologists and anthropologists will provide the public with a comprehensive overview of this great pre-columbian civilization, covering not only its art and its culture but every one of its major facets, froms religion and sacrifice to customs and daily life, to society and politics. The public attending the lectures will thus be able to gain a fresh and deeper insight into the spectacular exhibits on display in the Palazzo, exploring their hidden meanings and the mystery jealously guarded in the age-old silence of an art and a civilization as sophisticated and refined as it is remote from our own world.
