Film introduced by Marianna Cappi
In the 1920s, Leonard Zelig has an incredible ability to change aspect and personality according to the person with whom he is speaking at any given moment. Under treatment from Dr. Fletcher, he rediscovers his true identity, going on to become a symbol of democracy. This is one of Woody Allen’s peak achievements, in which he builds a film like a genuine documentary and manages to be hilarious while simultaneously plumbing the vices and paradoxes of American society in quite some depth.
