All the World around

training proposals for kindergarten and primary school teachers between school and museum

course duration 20 hours

A path that has as its protagonists the books of the Art Shelf, a library specializing in international art publishing for children housed at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. Monographs by artists and illustrators, Silent books and illustrated books by great authors are the wealth of images of over 2000 volumes that allows you to approach the multiple languages of art and offer a valuable tool within educational and growth processes.

The Art Shelf, in fact, closely linked to the exhibition proposals of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and to the research, design and training of the Educational Services of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, is used as the "iron of the trade" in the conception of educational activities. It lives as a proposal for schools, for families, for boys and girls who participate in the rich program that the Roman museum offers.

A laboratory approach to achieve the objectives of first cultural literacy, of the acquisition of languages for understanding the world and of development of the creative potential of girls and boys.

Books with figures

A meeting to define the "rules" of the illustrated book: a text in which words and images interact with each other, amazes and involves those who browse it, stimulates and activates associations and references, awakening our sensitivity. From the cover to the binding, from paper to layout, many elements to conceive the picture book, in its entirety as an object, or better still as an art object.

The nature

Observing and distinguishing plants, trees and flowers offers infinite stimuli to read and interpret what surrounds us with attention and poetry as artists have always done. Many examples of books dedicated to the theme and laboratory proposals starting from the Nature in all senses exhibition dedicated to the PiNO - Piccoli Naturalisti Osservatori series of the Topipittori publishing house.

The body

Knowing all the parts of the body, naming them and associating sensations with them allows us to understand how we are made and how our body reacts to external stimuli. Several laboratory proposals to enrich yourself with a visual vocabulary that tells the body in all its aspects, guided by the surprising Crazy Dictionary of the Body by Katy Couprie published by Fatatrac.

The Space

The environments we live in every day, such as our home, the city, the Earth, become the field of action for an investigation of the space around us. Accompanied by the curious, poetic and attentive gaze of artists, illustrators and photographers, we can broaden our perception and stimulate our eyes to become aware of the details that surround us, of the farthest and closest things, of the infinitely small and of the immensely large.

workshop with parents and teachers

A sharing meeting to tell the training experience. An opportunity to forge bonds and deepen the dialogue between parents and teachers
