The gingerbread Man

11 december 2025 ore 20:00

directed by Robert Altman, starring Kenneth Branagh, Embeth Davidtz and Robert Downey Jr., USA 1998, 114 min., 35mm, Italian version

A successful lawyer in a sultry Savannah about to be hit by a hurricane meets a waitress who is being persecuted by her father, a disciple of the fundamentalists. Based on a novel by John Grisham, the king of legal thrillers, the film reveals the director’s skill in unravelling the tense, suffocating atmosphere of the genre, offering him a fresh opportunity to portray America’s fanatical, violent, meaner side.
