Andrea Donati
Parmigianino was an absolute focal point for European Mannerism, his travels up and down Italy allowing him to gain personal knowledge of the major centres of the Italian Renaissance and to develop a thoroughly original style of his own. Drawings and prints helped him to disseminate his style and his inventions, which is how he became a decisive referent for the development of the School of Fontainebleau in France and for El Greco's early career in Italy.
