The Sinai peninsula has become the theatre of a fully-fledged slave trade. Fifty thousand Eritreans have come through here since 2009 and ten thousand of them have never left. Young people from Christian families with a good background, fleeing the dictatorship, are kidnapped on the march towards Sudan and tortured by the Bedouins to extort a ransom from their families. Three survivors recount a story that is still shrouded in silence, the umpteenth tragedy on the migrant routes.
