The changing Left is glimpsed behind the scenes during an epoch-making event, Togliatti's funeral in 1964, as the movie explorse the ideological and personal crises of four militants – one of them a surprising performance by Lucio Dalla – travelling to Rome to take their final leave of their beloved party secretary and of their own youth.
