Cabiria is a naive prostitute who still believes she can change her lifestyle. Fate is cruel towards her, but it cannot rob her of her extraordinary humanity. Moving and ironic, poetic and cynical at the same time, this movie turned Giulietta Masina into an icon and won her an award at Cannes. The film also won the Academy Award for the Best Foreign Film.
