Caged Heat directed by Jonathan Demme
(USA 1974, 90 min - Italian version)
In Demme's first movie, produced by Corman, the iconic Barbara Steele plays a sadistic women's prison governor who subjects her inmates to Nazi-style torture and violence, until rebellion finally explodes to the rhythm of the music of John Cale (Velvet Underground). The director handles this typical exploitation movie, with its full quota of violence and nudity, with intense skill and rigorously detachment.
