The Little Shop of Horrors directed by Roger Corman
(USA 1960, 70 min - original version with Italian subtitles)
An eccentric cult movie about a carnivorous plant that thirsts for human blood, this is an emblematic example of Corman's production model:  an extremely tight budget, filming lasting two days, and a set borrowed directly from his previous movie.  But he makes up for this poverty of means with his unique director's skill in mixing humour and horror, the everyday and the bizarre.  The masochistic dentist's patient, incidentally, is a very young Jack Nicholson.
