Boudu sauvé des eaux, France, 1932, 83 min., original version with Italian subtitles

directed by Jean Renoir, starring Michel Simon, Charles Granval and Marcelle Hainia

A tramp named Boudu throws himself into the Seine but a kind-hearted bouquiniste saves him and takes him home, without imagining that his new guest is going to turn his life upside down. With amusement and irony, Renoir causes the anarchistic Boudu to clash with bourgeois convention in what has become a cult movie.
