Victor is a former professional boxer, and when a talented youngster walks into his gym he decides to help him forge a career for himself. But the youngster has to choose between boxing and the beautiful Corinne. Carné returns as an old master to the atmosphere of a cinema long gone, yet he still manages to make his mark.
