Raffaele Dello Ioio | How the Shape of a Plant Is Formed

25 January 2022, from 11:00am to 1:00pm
cycle of lectures organised in conjunction with Sapienza Università di Roma - Facoltà di Scienze Matematiche, Fisiche e Naturali

What is it that determines the shape of a plant? In this lecture we explore the basics of morphogenesis in plant model systems, observing the conduct of the molecules that govern cell activity. We shall also see how knowledge of the basics of morphogenesis in plants can be used from a biotechnological viewpoint to enable the growth of species that can be cultivated in a constantly changing world.

Raffaele Dello Ioio, Lecturer in plant molecular biology, "C. Darwin" Department of Biology and Biotechnologies, Rome Sapienza University - Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences and research fellow with Rome's Sapienza University. He uses different plant model systems to explore the morphogenesis of plants.
