A protest movie that brings together three great masters of the period – Bolognini, Pasolini and Moravia – in a movie whose script is based on Moravia's writing.  Unemployment, con tricks and prostitution fill the days of an inhabitant of Rome's working-class suburbs, as the city itsefl writhes in the stranglehold of underhand plotting by wheelers and dealers at the highest levels.
