Two study days on Raphael will be held on June 11-12, 2014 in Rome, Palazzo delle Esposizioni focusing on the important results that came out from the researches and restorations recently done on some of Raphael's roman works, executed since his arrival in 1508 until his death in 1520.
The restorations of the frescoes in the Stanza di Eliodoro (1512-1514) and of a group of celebrated pantings by the master as the Madonna di Foligno, Pinacoteca Vaticana, the Madonna del Divino Amore, Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte, or the Spasimo di Sicilia, Museo del Prado are now completed. Furthermore, the late Raphael's oeuvre has been explored by a recent research campaign relating to the artist's late actitivity and his relationship with his workshop. As a consequence, a new evaluation of the late Raphael's creative activity is now required. In fact, the above mentioned restorations have disclosed an astonishing development in artist's technical knowledge that occurred during the years in Rome, taking place simultaneously to his impressive transformations in style.
