After the great success of Weekend and the outstanding result of 45 years, which led Charlotte Rampling to a step from the Academy Award, director Andrew Haigh returns behind the camera with Charley Thompson (original title: Lean On Pete), an intense and exciting road movie premiered at the last Venice Film Festival, where the main actor Charlie Plummer won the Mastroianni Prize. The film will be released in Italy by Teodora starting from April 5th and it will be premiered in Rome at Palazzo delle Esposizioni on March 28th at 9.00 pm, in the English version with subtitles and with free entrance while seats last. The film tells the story of the young Charley, abandoned by his mother and raised by an inattentive father, who’s always in trouble. The two are looking for a new start in Portland, Oregon, but soon Charley will have to travel again, this time alone, through deep America: it will be the it will be the friendship with an old racehorse, Lean on Pete, to give him hope in a better future.
