(USA 1945) by Elia Kazan, starring Dorothy McGuire, Joan Blondell, b/w, 128’, 35mm original language with Italian subtitles

Early 20th century. A Brooklyn family of Irish origins struggles to go by. The father is a lovely man but likes to drink, while the mother is pregnant with her third child and fights for a better future. Elia Kazan's first film is an outstanding work and was a huge hit. Written as a classic Hollywood film, it's a social commentary driven by a Neo-realistic style.
